DIN 47256 Fibre Optic Pigtails
The DIN 47256 style of fibre optic connector is made from brass then nickel plated with a threaded nut for easy insertion and release.
Using a 2.5mm Zirconia (Zr.) high tolerance ferrule it is a perfect choice for both multimode and singlemode applications in FLAT and UPC (Ultra Physical Contact). This connector can be terminated to any fibre from 250um (Primary) coated through to the stainless steel alker Micro Armoured™ range of fibre optic assemblies for harsher environments.
The DIN 47256 connector was standardised by the ‘Deutsches Institut für Normung’ (DIN), the German national standards organisation. They were originally designed for analogue applications and for digital interfaces such as MIDI or the IBM PS/2 computer keyboard and mouse cables.
