FDDI Fibre Optic Pigtails
The FDDI (Fibre Distributed Data Interface) style of fibre optic connector is made from a lightweight plastic incorporating an easy push-pull insertion and release system. The FDDI refers to a local area network standard such as Ethernet or Token Ring. The termination is also known as MIC (Media Interface Connector).
The FDDI uses two 2.5mm Zirconia (Zr.) ferrules making it a perfect choice for multimode and some singlemode applications in UPC (Ultra Physical Contact) polish. This connector can be terminated to any fibre from 1.6mm (duplex) to 3mm (duplex) coated through to the alker Micro Armoured™ range of assemblies for harsher environments.
