Armoured Fibre Assemblies

alker's Armoured Optics range has been designed with harsh and military environments in mind including hot, cold, abrasive, wet or even high vibration. We can accomodate the majority of fibres available, including specialist fibre. The packaging range from 250um (Primary) to 900um (Buffered) 1.6mm, 2mm and 3mm (Ruggedised).

Our next level of protection is Micro Armouring™ from 2mm and 3mm stainless steel armouring covered with a PVC jacket.

We hold a range of singlemode and multimode fibres on stock through to the more specialist Polarisation Maintaining (PM) fibres (Panda and Bowtie, with others availabe on request).

Polarisation Maintaining (PM) Armoured Optics

The alker PM Armoured Optics™ assemblies can now perform in extreme environments previously thought impossible (wet, dry, hot and cold). Our rigorous termination process and high accuracy coupled with the added protection of the armouring makes this possible.

Orientation of the fibre is available in fast, slow or custom axis in either FLAT, UPC (Ultra Physical Contact), 8° FLAT or APC (Angled Physical Contact) polished finish. The range of connectors includes FC, DIN, E- 2000, and LC. A bespoke design and manufacturing facility for custom requirements is also available.
